Alright you well-traveled people, I need some advice. This year I turn a certain age - an age that deserves a bit of celebration.
THE BIG 4 0! (SHHHHHHHHHHHHH - Don't tell!)
And I have been promised a June trip of my choosing for 7-8 night sans kids. So where to? I am open to suggestions, but there must be mountains and water (ocean water not necessary) and out of the U.S., and not blazing hot. Austria always tops my list, but I am thinking maybe someplace I haven't been before. Anyone know anything about Slovenia and the Julian Alps? Or do you know someplace even better? Suggestions sought.

Quite honestly, I think you should come to Norway...Helgøya actually. Here you have water...mountains are nearby, sweden is 2 hours away by car, Oslo is 2 hours away by car- or train...Lillehammer is 45 minutes away- again by car or train. We live on an island, surrounded by water...it's not THAT hot here in the summer..it can get warm..but not Florida warm..And in June we will maybe have PUPPIES.....oooooooooooolalala....
Brittany is paradise in the summer...well, when we have a good summer...but I am afraid we cant offer you mountains. How about some hills?
Ahem.... Mountains..... Water....
Hint, hint.
The South of France or Corsica. Hard to beat those.
Vancouver, B.C.!
No way you're turning 40, you don't look a day over 29.
