A Few Gray Skies

Very little that I can post about. PH and kids are enjoying snow and skiing out West. Work has become very acrimonious over the past two days. The good new is that as of next Wednesday I will be done. The bad news of the job situation is longer than my kid's list to Santa and includes personal attacks by administrators who still demand that all will be handled their way to the detriment of some of the students. I'm just trying to wrap it all up as soon as I can because this has become a nightmare. I can honestly say that as a criminal lawyer I was treated with more respect, paid more, and there were less expectations on my personal time. I understand not all schools are alike but I now understand those parents who chose to homeschool their children.

I know you probably can't say, but I'm baffled you are getting treated so badly just because you're leaving the job. Surely it isn't a new occurance to replace an employee?? Geez...no wonder you'll be glad to leave!!

Sunshine - Actually teacher's leaving have been a very familar occurrence this year. Most have walked out the door with little notice, where as I gave more notice that what is required by my contract. Obviously a mass exodus of teachers is problematic for a private school because parents begin to wonder why they pay money for a school that can not retain teachers. I'd love to be able to give these parents a truthful answer!

My sympathies are with you hexe. The stampede of teaching talent to the open hills says it all.Take a deep breath and wash them right out of your hair.
I spent a year performing a theatre piece in Brittany and went into hundreds of different schools. It was unbelievable how different the atmosphere could be in each of them. You could almost smell it in the entrance hall, and usually it all depended on the headmasters...
