How is it possible that I ate whatever I wanted over the Christmas trip to Maine and Colorado and did not gain a pound, and my first week on a diet where I followed it perfectly - lots of fruit and veggies, no chocolate and exercise everyday -
I gained 2 POUNDS!?!

It's all a conspiracy!
I like ms. mac's theory!! Try to see if you can exercise early in the morning, this boosts your metabolism more, even if it is waiting to eat on an empty stomach or just a small coffee and then going for a brisk 45 min walk after your daughter is off at school....
As for weight gain, it does happen. I find that fruits make me gain weight easier. Add in some nuts to the hearty greens instead and that might help you. Add in more water and that could help too!!!
I don't weigh myself too often because of that fear, but I did loose 3 lbs last week from my step up in training!
Here's to good vibes that it was just a stupid body change. Also, know that you should switch up your eating 1 out of 7 days a week..
These are all tips I've learned along the way.
The world of weight loss has been, always will be and IS a great mystery too me...but I keep trying to figure it out...don't give up you either!!!
Oh I feel your pain... I lost 14 lbs before Christmas... I am afraid to step on the scale because I am pretty sure I have gained most of it back... Getting back on track this week..hubby is out of town, I am working in the evenings so there is no excuse not to have a great work out everyday... Hang in there...
I'm not and expert, so I'm afraid I can't help :-(
Btw: Sorry I haven't been around that much, but my back still hurt and its hard to type.
