Off to Mouseland

We have never taken our children to Disney. I understand we have broken some Florida state law by depriving our children of the phenomena. We had this belief that the children should be old enough to actually enjoy it. Having reached the ages of almost six and almost four, we have decided it's time. I have next week off and tomorrow we leave for the Land of the Mouse for four days. Right now the kids only know we are going on a trip. You will probably hear their screams of delight when we tell them. I'll be bringing the computer so I'll try to download a couple photos in between running between parks. I wonder if Mickey serves wine?

If there was any justice in the world, he'd serve not only wine but valium as well.

Disneyland is my nightmare. I have absolutely no desire to go there. Theme parks in general are the last place I want to spend time these days.

I am so old!

There is indeed wine at the Epcot Center. Thank God for that.

The kids will absolutely love it. Hope you find your wine!

I'm sure you can find a lawyer who can reduce the penalty of that you've broken that law ;-)

If Mickey don't serve wine, why don't you ask Pluto?

Btw: Thanks for your greetings and also lovely support on my Best European Blog nomination!

Have lots of fun, enjoy yourself with the kiddies! :-)

I have to confess that I quite loved our two excursions to Mouseland! At the first one, the children were quite small, our favorite was the Peter Pan ride. Magical! We liked the Kingdom so much, that on the fourth day, on which we were supposed to depart, I took the kids and left my dear husband alone at the hotel and did not return until four o'clock in the afternoon. Ah, to be a kid again! :-)

brave woman..but at least it isnt disneyland in Paris.
I have skilfully avoided going there so far and I think the danger past since mine are now 17 and 15 years old, and none the worse for this terrible deprivation. There are better places to drink wine...

Ms. Mac - No valium or wine in the Magic Kingdom. Instead lots of screaming parents, sobbing children, and pushing and shoving. I too have an aversion to amusement parks, but my husband loves them. Next time he can go alone with the kids ;)

Naechstehaltestelle - We didn't go to Epcot this trip as the kids were too young to appreciate it. Epcot would only make me long for some real travel!

Mountain Dweller - I was out of luck on the wine but did find one cranberry margarita when we left the Disney grounds - YUM! The kids did have fun.

Renny - I begged Mickey, Pluto, and even Chip N' Dale to no avail; damn animals ;)

Merisi - The kids did have fun and it was a good time even with the crowds. Of course when you ask my son what was his favorite part of the visit, he replied "The tram (to the car) and the pool (at the hotel)."

Rosie - Thanks for visiting. I agree there are so many better places to drink wine, but very few of those places hold the same appeal for my kids, ages 3 and 5; maybe in a few years (or fifteen) we'll have the same vacation desires.
